For All the Saints: Thomas à Kempis

This famous Dutch canon regular was born about 1380 and died on this day in 1471. He was born in Germany and went to Utrecht to attend school, and stayed in the area at the Monastery of Mount St. Agnes. He was known as a prolific writer and copyist, copying the Bible at least four times and writing spiritual material. His four books for novices were collected and named The Imitation of Christ, one of the most famous texts in Christian history.
